Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bring Back the Gel Formula Please!!! I used the hydrating gel formula for some time and it cleared pesky blackheads on my nose that nothing had been able to! I also used it on my face/neck for anti-aging purposes and it really was hydrating and non-irritating. When it was discontinued, I switched to this formula and have not had the same results with my blackheads--their back and staying put! Also, it does give a burning sensation to my skin and make it flake a bit. Also has a bit of chemical odor. I gave it 2 stars because it is moisturizing and has no parabens like the gel did. Please listen to all of these reviews and bring back the gel--without parabens. Gel also had some nice antioxidant ingredients.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why change it? Irritating ingredients! Used the old glycolic 10 moisturiser that has been discontinued for the past 5 years. Completely kept my dairy reactive chin clear from blemishes! Was a life saver. Was fragrance free with vitamins A & E. The new version contains so many irritating ingredients including fragrance! Why change something that had such raving reviews. Why not bring out another one for people who want to rub alcohol on their faces but keep this one for those of us that have used it faithfully with success for the last 5 years. Now going to have to experiment with many different glycolics until I can find one that keeps spots at bay.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not really working on my skin I have an uneven skin tone. I have been using this product for two weeks now and I am not really happy with it. When I put it on my face it is really sticky that even when I wake up in the morning, the sticky feeling is still there. Also, I didn't feel or see any positive difference about my skin, so I stopped using. I just wish I could send it back to the store and refund my money, but of course that is not possible, so it is just a waste of money. I am sorry to say that but that is exactly how I feel about it because this product is a bit pricey. I would suggest to everyone to try the sample first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best products i've ever used This product has transformed my aging 43 & 1/2 year old skin! I am a happy mom. I've struggled especially recently with sun spots and wrinkles and more dryness than usual (the last year especially?) I've researched and tried sooo many products, and this PTR glycolic (at night time) along with sunblock (50+) during the day, plus Lancer's Lime peel (once or twice per month) have changed my skin completely. Please do not ever discontinue this product. I have read that many love the previous gel glycolic..if you can bring that back for them, but keep this too..you have some very "HAPPY" customers. Thank you PTR! :-)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terribly disappointed I bought this as a replacement to the 10% glycolic gel I've been using for a long time. The product burns and is very irritating, even using a small amount. I'm not sure what it is about the formula. Maybe I'm allergic to it. My skin continued to be dry and flaky with using for a few weeks. I gave in and found a site that still sells the gel and bought 2 bottles. Back to using the gel my skin is smooth with no flakiness in the middle of winter after only 2 days.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible substitution for the original This came in the mail when I had an ongoing bi-monthly order for the original gel. My spouse and I both use the original and both gave this new formula a try. It is terrible. I do not have troublesome skin and this formula caused me to have cystic type blemishes in places on my face I have never had issues before. We are very disappointed with this version of the Glycolic Acid Hydrating gel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing... The older version of this was a life saver. After years and years of trying out products I found something that worked. I don't understand why it was discontinued. I saw great reviews. This new formula is irritating to the skin. I am sad...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love, love .. All I have to do is post this picture n it will show you what Peter Thomas Roth’s products have done for me. I am not getting paid for this. This is not a promotion. I am a real life mother of three, wife, etc. so, just look at the picture and see for yourself. Finally, I will say PTR has me for life. If you look at the picture where I have a circle on my four head. It looks to be like it was a sunny spot. But if you look at the after picture. The sunspot has faded to a degree that’s incredible. If you look around and laugh lines which started the colors of my nose. Right there in the crevice of my nose my last lines are buried. I’ve had a lot of lines are my life. If you look at my eyelids they have lifted it might not be to a huge degree but they have definitely left it. And everything else to me as obvious. My skin is brighter . My skin is more even. Just everything looks better! Thanks OTR!!! And, FYI it to me as products aren’t just moisturizers, cleansers. It’s like their treatments. I absolutely have a Lotta stuff. I wanted to try it for a long time. But, I resisted. I haven’t tried everything in the world. So I started out with one product, then to etc. now I am literally getting everything he puts out to help with my skin.

Hi there! I'm trying to find some products that are non comedegenic, and am having trouble finding that information anywhere, this says it reduces pore size but is it pore clogging? What other products, specifically moisturizers are? Thanks so much xoxo

Asked by: Blinxxs
Dear Blinxxs, Thank you for contacting us! While our products are not tested to be non-comedogenic, none are "comedogenic". Our company aims to not use ingredients that, to our knowledge, cause acne breakouts or clogged pores. We recommend trying our Max complexion pads, it cleanse skin, clear up acne and blackheads, penetrate and clear out pores, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with these powerful pads. Each pad contains maximum strength 2% Salicylic Acid and potent 10% Glycolic Acid Complex in an advanced botanical formulation to cleanse the skin, clear up active acne, minimize pore size, and eliminate the formation of new blackheads and breakouts. Double-sided pads deliver gentle cleansing action on one side and superior exfoliation on the textured side. Formulated with a fresh peach bellini scent instead of a traditional antiseptic scent.

Is it recommended for acne prone skin? I am looking for a night cream to treat wrinkles, spots and large pores that won`t cause breakouts.

Asked by: liegemg
Hi there! This product does not contain any OTC acne ingredients so you may want to consult your dermatologist depending on the sensitivity of your skin and severity of your breakouts. You may want to consider an oil-free moisturizer instead, like the Water Drench Cloud Cream, if you're worried about aggravated skin. Hope this helps!

Asked by: SJHayes
Hi there! This is the NEW Gylcolic moisturizer which has had the parabens removed. If you ever used the previous version of the Glycolic moisturizer - this is simply an update! Given some of the ingredients of the product you used before, this seems like it would be a nice match for you.

What's the difference between this and the 10% hydrating GEL? Is the 10% hydrating gel being discontinued? I can't find the gel in stores now. Unfortunately, something in the 10% moisturizer (the white tube) breaks me out.

Asked by: Qtsuzie
Hi Suzie! We aren't discontinuing the hydrating gel, it might just be unavailable at retailers in your area. It is available for purchase on the site! The primary difference (aside from the texture) is that the gel actually aids in the hydration of your skin, while a moisturizer helps to provide a protective barrier on the skin to moisturize as well as prevent further loss of hydration. Also, it is worth noting that this moisturizer is actually different than the old 10% - the parabens have been removed a new time-release form of Glycolic Acid has been included. So your skin may respond differently to this version!

Is this product recommended for sensitive skin? If so, when is it used? Thank you.

Asked by: SCDC
Hi there, This product can be used once or twice a day, daily. We have done our best to reduce any chance of irritation by including lots of soothing moisturizers and a slow release form of Glycolic. It should be fine for y our skin type, however be sure to do a patch test first before applying it the rest your face. Hope this helps!
